PRASITHA WALGAMA
Attorney -at- Law
Prasitha Walgama brings over three decades of litigation and public law experience to the firm's advisory practice. Enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in November 1992, he has built a distinguished career spanning civil and criminal litigation, labour and employment law, and public and administrative law, with regular appearances before the High Court and Magistrates' Courts across the Southern Province.
Mr. Walgama currently serves as a Director of the Southern Province Road Development Authority, and acts as panel lawyer to a number of local government and statutory bodies, including the Galle Heritage Foundation, Galle Municipal Council, Habaraduwa Pradeshiya Sabha, and Hikkaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha. Since 2015, he has also served as panel lawyer to plantation sector companies, advising on labour disputes, disciplinary inquiries, and industrial relations matters.
Mr. Walgama holds an LL.B. from the University of Colombo, where he trained as an Attorney-at-Law before his enrolment before the Supreme Court. He also holds a Diploma in Psychological Counselling from the University of Ruhuna — a background that informs his approach to sensitive institutional matters, disciplinary inquiries, and labour disputes requiring a measured, people-focused advisory style alongside strict legal rigour.
His board-level governance experience and institutional advisory background bring particular depth to matters involving statutory compliance, public sector engagement, and employment law — complementing the firm's corporate, IP, and foreign investment practice.
